The Secret Organization is set to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the real showdown won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced this week that the talented performer has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bentham. The role possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that role reinterpreted as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and animated series.

The new cast member joins a number of new cast members who will portray the organization to the screen, such as head Mr. 0, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the cast as the ruler of the desert kingdom.

Although this character is a important part of the organization, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Given season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this represents a notable change in the placement of their first appearance, one that could indicate further changes to the story’s structure.

The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the role. Besides their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
