New Details Emerge About the Finding of the Reiner Couple's Bodies

Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the untimely passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

The Initial Report

As detailed in an account citing a confidential source, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the residence. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

Upon entering the house, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Another individual who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Subsequently, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained and is ineligible for bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source questioned several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.

Furthermore pushed back against circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's actions in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes descriptions of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a event thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. While the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were untrue.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

Per law enforcement officials, the coroner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the scene. He was due to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
