Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in a latest discussion that the country's survival relied on obtaining additional financial aid from allies.

The EU executive continues to aim to persuade participating countries – including Belgium, that is currently blocking the plan due to legal fears – to move ahead on a €140 billion reparations loan using Moscow's immobilized funds.

Discussions Occur Amid Corruption Scandal in Kyiv

But the talks are happening during a tricky time for Ukraine, as Zelenskyy had to move to address rising popular anger in Ukraine over a bribery incident in the power industry, dismissing several officials allegedly involved in participating in a large-scale bribery scheme.

Danish economic affairs minister Stephanie Lose was questioned on her response to the scandal, and affirmed that there was determination to keep aiding Ukraine.

“Naturally, The country will have to continuously work with reforms, strengthening every sector of their society [and] that also applies to fighting graft … but there shouldn’t be any doubt that Europe stands firmly with Kyiv,” she stated.

Additional European Developments Monitored
